1. JOHN¹ LOMAX was born Bef. 1673 in St. Botolph, Bishopsgate, London, UK. He married SUSANNAH UNKNOWN. She was born Bef. 1677 in london.

Notes for JOHN LOMAX:

The children of John Lomax are not known with any degree of certainty.

The only extant records are of four christenings and whether the John

and Susannah listed as parents are the same individuals in each case

can not be determined. Susanna Lomax was the first child christened

in 1694, at Stepney, St. Dunstan, daughter of John and Susanna Lomax.

John, son of John and Susannah Lummocks, was christened in 1695 at St.

Botolph, Bishopsgate, London. Thomas, son of Johnand Susannah

Lommox, was christened at the same place in 1701. Luke, son of John

and Susannah Lomux, was christened at the same place in 1707. The

different spellings of the surname are troublesome, but not unusual

when illiteracy was so prevalent. When Thomas signed his indenture on

1 February 1719, he gave his age as 18. If this is the same as the

Thomas Lommox christened 11 May 1701, then either his christening was

several months after his birth or he gave the age that he would be in

several months. The lineage from John and Susannah to the Thomas

Lomax who came to America will forever remain in doubt because ofthe

lack of records; that link can only be surmized. No more likely (or

evenplausible) lineage has been found to date.
